The state of Western Australia regulates mineral rights onshore and within 3 nautical miles of the shoreline.

The Department of Minerals and Petroleum is responsible for administering mineral tenure and other acts to do with mining and industrial safety. There is a basic provisions guideline here, with the mineral titles home page here. There are also some useful Information Pamphlets here.

  • Expenditure Report (Form 5) - E,P,M,ML Tenement Types - DUE 59 days post anniversary: STATUS Tracking/Notes: FULL - based on Form 5 lodgement on MTO

  • Exemption from Expenditure - E,P,M,ML Tenement Types - STATUS Tracking/Notes: FULL based on Exemption Application lodgement on MTO after a Form 5 lodged showing under expenditure

  • Partial Surrender - E Tenement Type - DUE 30 days prior to relevant year's anniversary - STATUS Tracking/Notes: FULL - based on relevant dealings lodged around anniversary years 3, 4 for pre Feb 10 2006 lodgements or year 5 for later.
