• Annual Environmental Reports (AER's) - From July 1st, 2013 online lodgement will be mandatory for all tenement holders who are required to submit an AER. Hard copies won't be accepted after this date.

Northern Territory

• The Minister for Mines and Energy has just announced that from 1st October 2013 a new 1% levy on new and existing Environmental Rehabilitation Security Bonds will come into effect for Territory mining companies. The revenue generated will be used to create a dedicated legacy mining unit and directly to a specific mining remediation fund. Link to official media release.
