Action Definitions

These are the regular tasks needed to keep titles in good standing. This list may not be complete.

  • If the mining claim is registered on lands with a surface rights owner, the claim holder must notify the surface rights owner that the claim has been registered within 60 days of registering the claim.
  • the assessment work requirement must be met in each assessment year on the claim’s anniversary date unless a different due date has been set by an order extending or excluding time. For newly registered mining claims, the first unit of assessment work is not due until the second anniversary date of the claim.
